WINE TASTING | SOMMELIER FREE LANCE | WINE TOUR

The concept

The concept of Pocket Sommelier was born when I was working as second sommelier at De Librije, three star Michelin restaurant in Zwolle. Inspired by my ten years working experience and having a passion to improve how wine knowledge can be shared, I created my personal concept for wine lovers to enjoy a nice moment in a comfortable setting and learning about wines at the same time.

I now living in Nederland but I’m originally from Italy, from the region of Piemonte which is land of amazing red wine (Barolo, just to think of one). I’m sommelier from the Associazione Italiana Sommelier since 2014 and I’m now studing with Wine&Spirits Education Trust to improve my skills. I strongly belive that wine is not just a drink and I make a constant effort to spread awareness of the work of the winemakers, honor the history of each wine and celebrate the heritage, tradition and that is shared by these wines.

I want to offer an original, dynamic, and personalized approach to wine tasting that allows you to discover and enhance your knowledge in the vast and fascinating world of wine.

Three wines to describe me:

Barbera d’Alba: Barbera is a unique little grape from Piedmont, the quintessential ‘wine of the people’ and is like me: little, fresh, strong but velvety smooth.

Oslavje, orange wine (Radikon): is an amazingly complex and profound wine, totally genuine. Radikon is making some of the most striking and unusual wines coming out of Italy’s Friuli Venezia Giulia today. I'm like that: I love nature, healthy lifestyle and open minded people.

Carignano del Sulcis: Carignano is a characterful variety of Sardinia, stunning island in the South of Italy. My parents are originally from there. I was born in Piedmont but I have my genetic heritage in common with Carignano.
